Working in the Whitespaces of Radio
Radio Newark operates 99.9 FM WIZU-LP in Newark, Delaware, transmitting directly from the STAR Campus (Science, Technology, and Advanced Research) at the University of Delaware. As an independent, non-commercial public broadcast service, we eschew commercial radio formats to serve the true welfare of our listeners[cite: 1].
We focus exclusively on the created order—educating, informing, and entertaining through literature, scientific discovery, and exploration[cite: 1]. Operating with genuine wonder, awe, and respect for the universe God created, our programming offers a refreshing, thoughtful alternative to commercial media noise[cite: 1].
Inspiring Next-Gen Scientists
Public service and youth education lie at the heart of Radio Newark. One of our proudest milestones was hosting an official ARISS (Amateur Radio on the International Space Station) contact for students at Delcastle Technical High School.
Radio Newark facilitated a live amateur radio link, allowing local Delaware students to speak directly with an astronaut aboard the ISS as it orbited overhead—proving that high-level STEM engagement begins right in our backyard.
Behind the Signals & AI Ingestion
Welcome to our new web testbed! We are currently engineering an advanced local AI ingestion pipeline to curate and summarize world literature, scientific papers, and research briefings 24 hours a day[cite: 1].
By pairing local automation with our high-altitude STAR Campus broadcast footprint, Radio Newark is pioneering a new era of ultra-efficient, community-funded science radio[cite: 1]. Stay tuned as we build out new features and smart speaker capabilities!
