We did it! Thank you for making this happen. The FM station is now operational in Newark. And the coverage is better than expected.

Major thanks to the University of Delaware for their kind assistance on so many levels. The Facilities people, IT support, and University executives all had a hand in getting this station on the air 🙂

It was a long, great day. Radio Newark is now broadcasting from the STAR Campus of the University of Delaware. The FCC Construction Permit has been satisfied in all aspects and Form 319 "Application for Station License" has been submitted and received by the FCC.

WIZU is now operational at 99.9 MHz FM.

Initial tests today showed somewhat better coverage than anticipated.

We have one major tweak to perform tomorrow and some minor ones as well.

Ken Chisholm was a huge help today as was Naim Mitchell from the Udel Facilities staff. Also, our hosts at Building 304 / STAR Campus Vic Costa, Mike, and Dave were wonderfully accommodating.

If you’re in the greater Newark area, tune to 99.9 and check it out. Signal reports are appreciated — you can email steve@radionewark.org with the details.

Mast-and-Antennas

The mast and antennas for our Emergency Alert Receiver and transmitter sit atop a 45 ft telephone pole.

Radio Newark has been a great project.  None of us imagined that we would build a radio station or have the Governor join us for a talk with an astronaut on board the International Space Station.  It's been a great blessing.

Thank you for your support of Radio Newark. Kindly let us know your thoughts.
